There are more than a few of us dog lovers who fantasize about what it would be like to have our hooman children grow up alongside a canine child. The pawdorable playtimes that they could share. The cheeky theft of food. The precious moments when your doggo looks out for your kid and helps them learn to walk. There are countless heartwarming moments to look forward to.

But sometimes that simply is not the way that things shake out, as you will come to find in this story. Sometimes, the relationship is rather distant and cold, but even if that is the case, it does not mean that your pupper does not love and care for their sibling. As is the case in this story, which goes to show that while it would be nice to have some day to day love and affection knocking around, it is far more important that in the moments that matter, your doggo is there for your family.
